Caring for Your Eyes


An eye examination should be carried out every two years to assess your vision and the health of your eyes.

 
Regular eye examinations are important because you may not be aware of gradual changes in vision and eye health.
 

Before your examination
  • Book an appointment
  • Remove your soft contact lenses or bring a contact lens case with you.
  • If you wear hard contact lenses, it is best not to wear them on the day of your consultation.  
  • Bring your medicare card

During your examination
In your comprehensive eye examination, your registered and qualified optometrist will:
  • Explore your eye history
  • Assess your vision
  • Thoroughly assess your eye health using the latest in precision imaging techniques, diagnosing and monitoring:
  • Eye disease including glaucoma, macula degeneration
  • Eye conditions such as cataract
  • General health problems that affect the eye- for eg. diabetes and high blood pressure
  • Eye coordination problems
  • Prescribe: glasses, contacts, eye medications and low vision aids.
  • Provide advice on a wide range of vision issues (eg. computer usage, UV protection, Safety Glasses, and Children's Vision).
