Medicare

Medicare will cover an eye examination every two years for all Australian residents. They also cover contact lens examinations if you have a high prescription. If you are coming for your normal 2 year check at Harris Blake and Parsons, we often bill Medicare directly for your consultation. This means no out of pocket expense to you.

Medicare pays 85% of the fee stipulated by the government. We accept that as the full payment. If you have been seen in the past 2 years, then you will be billed for your consultation, and can get a rebate back from your local Medicare office.

Health Insurance

Our HICAPS system can process all private health insurance claims on the spot. All you need to do is cover the gap.

If you have optical cover, you are entitled to claim back on prescription spectacle frames, lenses and contact lenses.
