Brett, Ross, Linda & Terry
Ross Harris BAppSc , LOSc , FVCO
Ross Harris graduated from Melbourne University in 1964.He has maintained close contact with professional affairs culminating in a term as President of the Optometrists Association of Australia 1981-84 and continues as clinical instructor at the University and the College of Optometry. Ross is a life member of Optometrists Association Australia (Victorian Division).
Terry BlakeBAppSc , LOSc , FVCO, Therapeutic Endorsement (ORBV)
Terry graduated in 1969 and also continued a close association with the University as academic associate and clinical instructor in the area of contact lens correction. He served on the Optometrists Registration Board and was a Council member at the Victorian College of Optometry. Terry recently completed studies, examinations and a clinical placement to obtain endorsed registration to prescribe listed S4 medications for ocular use.
Brett Parsons BSc Optom, FVCO
Brett graduated from The University of Melbourne in 1984 and specialises in contact lenses, laser refractive surgery care and ocular pathology. Brett became a partner in 1990. Brett is a fellow of the Victorian College of Optometry and a member of the Contact Lens Society of Australia.
Yun Fei (Linda) Feng B Optom, Therapeutic Endorsement (ORBV)
We are delighted that Linda (Yun Fei) Feng joined our practice as an associate in December 2006. Linda is from the first graduating class of the five year optometry course at Melbourne University. She completed her final year with three first class honours. The five year course includes the therapeutic component that previously needed to be completed after graduation. Linda and Terry are therapeutically qualified to treat and manage anterior eye disease.
Melissa Rollings has left Harris Blake & Parsons after seven years of outstanding professional service. She is pursuing her interest in paediatric optometry.
Technical Staff
For your convenience we have fully qualified optical technicians at both our Ringwood and Croydon practices. They are responsible for fitting most spectacle lenses and performing repairs and adjustments. Our technicians are also aware of the latest technology lens designs (including high index thinner lenses and anti-glare coatings) and would be pleased to discuss these, and other options, to enable you to choose the most appropriate lens for your prescription and lifestyle.
Wilfred is our optical technician at Croydon and has over 25 years experience in the many facets of optical dispensing and lens manufacture.
At Eastland Raelene is our full time technician and dispenser and has wide knowledge about latest in spectacle frams design and fashion. Melanie and Dina our fully qualified part time dispensers/technicians have many years experience both here and overseas. Their skill and knowledge of the latest technological advances in lens design is invaluable enabling the best possible lenses to be prescribed.
Reception Staff
Our friendly reception staff are knowledgeable in many areas of vision care and are keen to assist with any optometrical enquiry you may have.
Jenny is senior receptionist at Eastland and overseers office administration. She has a great flair for selecting fashion frames. Jenny is assisted by Anita and Mei. Mei is completing her final year of her optometry degree in 2008.
Judy, our bright cheerful full time receptionist is in charge of the Croydon front desk and she is ably assisted by Nicole who is part time. Josie works as receptionist on Saturday morning.
